Dr. ABBA A. IBRAHIM

Position: Managing Director/CEO 

Dr. Abba A. Ibrahim is a Chartered Engineer, with 30 years of experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors, registered with the United Kingdom Engineering Council, the Council for the Regulation of  Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and memberships of several international and local professional associations, such as the Institution of Gas Engineers and Managers, Nigerian Society of Engineers, Institute of Management Consultants, Association of Enterprise Risk Management Professionals etc.

Abba holds a Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Cranfield University, his area of research focused on multiphase flow measurements that involved analysis by novel Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques (neural networks) of three phase (oil, water and gas) flow. This is important for the production, control, allocation and fiscal purposes in the oil & gas industry. Dr. Ibrahim also holds Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree from the TRIUM Global Executive MBA programme. TRIUM’S unique approach of pooling the strengths of the three partner schools i.e. The New York University (NYU) Stern School of Business, the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and the HEC Paris School of Management MBA Degree (TRIUM Class of 2020).

Dr. Ibrahim was Commissioner for Engineering Standards & Safety, Government & Consumer Affairs of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), where he served in executive capacity for five years (December 2010 to December 2015), as a National Commissioner on the board of NERC.

Dr. Ibrahim is involved in several charities and philanthropic activities in education and healthcare for the less privileged members of the society. Dr. Ibrahim serves on the board of Medicaid Foundation as a trustee, focused on cancer care, eye surgeries and medical support for indigent citizens.


MUHAMMAD NASIR IBRAHIM
Position: Principal Partner

Muhammad is a principal partner at Proserve Energy Services prior to which he has had over 20 years experience with Schlumberger Middle East, based in Abu-Dhabi, UAE. He was responsible for the production optimisation services of Schlumberger across the Gulf region, in addition to overseeing the reservoir simulation workflows developments utilising the ECLIPSE reservoir simulation suite of tools.

 

Muhammad had previously worked with the Schlumberger software development center in Abingdon UK, and also the regional Schlumberger headquarters in Gatwick, UK. Prior to that, he was with an independent petroleum engineering consulting company (Robertson Blackwatch Petroleum services) in the UK, conducting independent studies for the British Government and major international oil and gas companies in the FSU (Former Soviet Union). Before this, he was with ELF (now TOTAL) Petroleum Company, in Nigeria.

His current interests are in the areas of parallel reservoir simulation optimization, reservoir characterization, new methodologies in history-matching, digital asset (i-Field) initiatives, and field development / management strategies. Muhammad holds a PhD, DIC degree in Chemical Engineering and an MSc degree in Petroleum Engineering, both from Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, in London. He also received a B.Eng. in Petroleum Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, in Nigeria. Muhammad is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers SPE, the Institute of Petroleum (IP) in London, as well as the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE). Muhammad is a recipient of the Schlumberger Gold Award, for his participation in the North Kuwait Jurassic Gas Field Development.

SHAMSUDEEN AFONJA (Sham)

Position: Senior Partner 

Sham is a technical energy consulting expert with over ten years’ utility experience incorporating detailed knowledge of Energy Regulation, Uniform Network Code and Agreements, The Grid Code, Commercial Framework & Agreements, Governance Arrangements, Policy & Code Modifications and Implementation, Regulatory Compliance, Contract Management, Energy Transportation & Metering Charging Methodology, Settlements & Billing and its overall impact on revenue protection.

He is a member of the board of the UK Independent Transporters’ Uniform Network Code. Sham’s significant tenure at one of the ‘Big 6’ Energy Company in the UK is testament to his commitment and ability. He also held a senior position at RWE npower (a leading UK / Europe energy company) for over 9 years where he focused on Corporate Strategy, Planning and Structuring the company’s Strategic Business Objectives through Business Operations & Development and Lobbying. He also provided key strategic leadership in defining the Industry Codes & Compliance, Gas & Power Regulatory Market Framework & Agreements, Governance Arrangements and Operational Processes & Procedures of the company in order to achieve its SBOs.

Sham has a proven experience of Lobbying, Negotiating and resolving conflicts across business areas; Commercial Agreements; Energy Policy; Gas & Power Regulation; Uniform Network Code & Grid Code; Gas & Power Industry Framework & Agreements; In-depth

knowledge of Gas & Power Regulation, Industry Standards & Compliance, Code Modification, Implementation and Strategy; Industry Consultations; Business & Commercial

Operations; Experienced Project Manager to include specification, development, testing and implementation of Capex projects.

Sham holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (with honors’) in Accounting from Staffordshire University and a Masters of Arts degree (with honors’) in International Business Management from Newcastle University, UK.

UMAR ABDULLAHI ALIYU

Position: Renewable Energy Consultant

Umar holds a first-class honours in B.Eng Electronic and Electrical Engineering from Loughborough University, where he presented a paper titled ‘Antenna for Low Frequency Applications’ at the IET Loughborough Antennas & Propagation Conference (LAPC). He addressed the challenges of size and cost of low frequency antenna with an operating frequency of 406 MHz. This operating frequency is designated internationally for search and rescue operations using satellite and terrestrial radio communication systems.

Umar then moved to graduate with an MSc in Sustainable Energy Engineering from the University of Nottingham. He researched on the energy performance of a historic (grade II* listed) building and recommended cost-effective solutions considering the potential for renewable heating system and roof mounted solar. Umar is part of the renewable energy team at Proserve Energy Services. He has over 5 years of experience in engineering, energy consulting activities and project delivery in both public and private sectors.

His focus is on clean energy transition as well as SDGs. He has founded SustainaWorks Limited and co-founded 360Aggro Limited. Umar is passionate about decarbonisation through energy management and renewable energy and takes special interest in areas of energy efficiency and sustainability. He has taken several courses and trainings in these areas. He is a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and the World Energy Council.
